Just been to A & T Coopers in Park Gate. They have move premises from Middle Rd to Bridge Rd (by sirs only). They really are the most helpful and polite. The stock looks fresh and welcoming. I hope they do well in their new premises?
Gary, why not ask them if they want to advertise on here?

The cash came from The Co-operative's Community Fund and included a donation of £1,000 to Warsash and Locks Heath Community Responders to buy a defibrillator.
The group respond to local medical emergencies such as those suffering cardiac arrest, chest pain or breathing difficulties.
Pity this website can't get a grant and promote its activity to the community????? Or have you had one Gary?

Posted by JHeppleton @ Mon Jun 23, 2008 8:35 pm
Just had it plonked through my door (23rd JUNE). It's the June edition and ALL the events are out of date.
Did someone have a couple of thousand that they couldn't get rid of and decided to waste a rain forest on Locks Heath?
The usual culprits advertsing. (company name removed by editor) with a whole back cover, how do they afford all this advertising? Everytime i open up a local mag, they have themselves plastered all over it.
I'm not a big fan of these so-called local magazines, because of the environmental waste it causes, not that they care!?

Watch out, watch out there's a wheelie-bin thief out and about
A wheelie-bin thief is on the loose in Fareham.
Dozens have been stolen from outside homes over the past few weeks.
Police are baffled by the spate of thefts and are now warning people to keep a close eye on their bins.
Chief Inspector Steve Wallace said: 'We are a little surprised at this sudden rise in bin thefts.
'I don't know why someone would want to steal a wheelie-bin?
'This type of crime causes inconvenience and annoyance to residents so we want to get to the bottom of it.
'We advise owners to make sure that their wheelie bins are marked with their address and kept in a secure place except on collection days.'
Police say 17 bins were stolen in April, 13 taken in May and four so far this month.
They have been stolen from roads around the town centre including Gordon Road, Geoffrey Crescent, Neptune Road, Highfield Avenue, Wallisdean Avenue, Malvern Avenue, Fairfield Avenue and Laburnum Road.
There have also been bin thefts in the Western Wards including St Georges Road, Brook Lane, and Sarisbury Green.Fareham Borough Council, which supplies the bins, replaces bins that have been stolen or damaged free of charge.
Councillors have hit out at the thefts and said it is the taxpayers who are having to foot the replacement bin bill.
Councillor Peter Davies, who had his wheelie-bin stolen last year, said: 'I have a very long driveway and so can't monitor my bin when I put it out, which is probably the case for many people.
'Why anyone would want to take a bin though, I don't know.
'The council is very good at replacing them quickly but it's the taxpayers who are footing the bill.'
Councillor Katrina Trott added: 'It's completely irresponsible. Why on earth would anyone want to steal a bin? What are they be doing with them? I hope they're not just dumping them somewhere.'
If anyone has seen anyone taking a wheelie bin or acting suspicious around the bins, contact Sergeant Pat Dawson at Fareham Police Station on 0845 045 45 45 or 01962 841534.

Swimming pool may share with hospital
long-awaited swimming pool could soon be sharing a site with a new community hospital.
Plans for a swimming pool in the western wards of Fareham have been tied up in red tape for almost 20 years.
Fareham Borough Council had wanted to build a pool on land next to Locks Heath Shopping Centre.
But the council has now begun looking at other potential sites, including the planned community hospital at the Coldeast site in Sarisbury Green.
Council leader Sean Woodward said: 'I have got officers investigating other sites, particularly at Coldeast.
'It's a 175-acre site, so there's bags of space and it won't interfere with the community hospital.'
Coldeast is earmarked for a hospital, promised to Fareham by health chiefs for decades, due to open at the end of 2010.
The land at Coldeast is due to be released in the near future, and Cllr Woodward said: 'We don't know when we will get the land, but it's a high priority for the council to have a pool in the western wards that can be used by the public. Our officers are pursuing several options.
'It will be a case of whichever site comes available first.'

Vacancy for school Governor

A vacancy for a school governor has arisen at Sarisbury Church of England Junior School. This is a very important voluntary duty and details of the commitment can be found at http://www3.hants.gov.uk/education/governors/
The appointment will be made by County Councillor Seán Woodward and he would be pleased to hear from anyone who may be interested.
Thanks.

I went to visit the exhibition, and there were no surprises. The photo I sent to this forum was there in full colour, and the plans were as on the FBC Web site.
I challenged Stockdale on Carbon Footprint, and redesignated parking bays for motorcycles and hybrid vehicles. The lights which are on top of poles along the new roof line are low energy, so they felt they had taken this into account. They had not given any thought to adding motorcycle bays, but it is now on their list for consideration. Hybrid vehicles would be difficult to police.
They told me that they had not approached any prospective tennants and would not do so until plans were approved. When I said it was difficult to see who these tennants would be, they asked why. I mentioned the new card shop and Homesome. They said it was certainly not their intention to drive existing tennants out.
The new extension is made of a number of separate units. Looking at the plans, I thought it would be relatively easy to merge units. I asked this question and was told that, yes, this could be done.
I then had a discussion with the MD of the PR company. He agreed to supply full publicity material, and also be a point of contact. I will place summary updates here, and details on my Web site.

Petrol Watch 19th June 10:20
Posted by Locksheath @ Thu Jun 19, 2008 10:26 am
Just been round on the bike (apart from Tesco Whiteley)
Shell Titchfield 114.9/127.9
Tesco Whiteley 116.9/130.9
Co-op Locks Heath 118.9/131.9
Park Gate Esso 118.9/131.9
Park Gate BP 119.9/131.9
I'd like to point out that BP Park Gate raised their prices whilst the petrol strike was on to 123.9/138.9 so they could 'Cash-in' on us. Now that the strike has ended, they have put the prices back down. Don't forget that's where people had their credit cards scammed. Just to remind you next time to you go there.
If you see a change, please post it.

This just in from Mark Hoban MP
Posted by Locksheath @ Wed Jun 18, 2008 3:26 pm
Following the decision of Hampshire County Council to take Brownwich and Chilling off the list of proposed sites for gravel extraction, Fareham MP Mark Hoban said:
"This is excellent news. Local people united in opposition to Brownwich and Chilling being used for gravel extraction. The scale of the opposition within the community was borne out by the huge turn-out at January's public meeting at Brookfield School and the number of responses to the County Council's consultation. Without the work of CAMELSolent, who made sure we all knew about the plans, none of this would have happened and we owe them a huge debt of gratitude.
"I am delighted that the County has listened to the arguments that we made and that the beautiful countryside at Brownwich and Chilling is now safe for local people to enjoy for years to come."
